Women’s football loses one-goal game to UIS

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois – The University of Indianapolis women’s soccer team fell in a 1-0 contest to the Prairie Stars of Illinois Springfield. The loss moves the Greyhounds to 1-3-3 for the season.

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN
The action was slow to start with the first shot of the competition arriving in the 14th minute, a low ball left from the foot of Madison Grandys of UIS defended by MaKenna Nickens of UIndy. The UIS sent in two more shots on goal before the 33rd minute of play, when the Prairie Stars placed the final decision. The Hounds were goalless in the first half.

The first shot for the Hounds came from Kiki Sauceda at 60 minutes, missing on the right. Stephanie Brady and Maria Herrero both added kicks in the second, none on target. The Prairie Stars continued to press on offense, taking seven corners in the contest and sending in 12 shots in the contest.
