Women’s football drops at Detroit Mercy, 1-0

DETROIT, Michigan – The Youngstown State women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to Detroit Mercy on Thursday night at Titan Field.

The Penguins drop to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Horizon League play, while the Titans improve to 4-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 in league play.

Youngstown State and the Titans battled for a goalless 60 minutes before UDM’s Julie Ann Piechocki scored at 61:00 of the game.

Senior Mackenzie Simon recorded two saves and faced nine pitches in total.

Senior Adriana Rondin led the Penguins with three shots while Abby Knight and Elis Klein Spindola each had two shots.

Youngstown State welcomes Milwaukee, Sunday, September 25. Kick off is scheduled for 1 pm at Farmers National Bank Field.
