Trojan golf finishes second at Jamboree Angels Crossing

The seventh Wolverine Conference golf jamboree was held at Angels Crossing in Vicksburg on Thursday.

The Sturgis golf team played well in the event, finishing in second place overall with a team score of 204 for the day.

Vicksburg, on their home course, hit a score of 193 to take first place overall.

Plainwell finished third with 205, followed by Otsego with 214, Edwardsburg with 215, Paw Paw with 220 and Niles with 243.

Three Rivers finished eighth overall with a team score of 261.

Laynie Zabonick led the Wildcats, she scored 56 points. Lily Zabonick scored 67 and Mariah Powell scored a personal best with 69. Maggie Gose also scored 69 while Taylor Gowan scored 79.

Sturgis saw his two best golfers finish with decent rounds.

Citori Kosmerick and Maddy Webb shot 48 each on the day.

Hannah Falkenstein and Piper Sterling hit a round of 54 each. Aspen Hyska scored 55, Gabby Netke hit 72.

The season finale jamboree will be held on Monday by Edwardsburg.
