San Sebastian games are shelved when 6 players test positive for COVID

SAN Sebastian’s games against Lyceum on Saturday and Emilio Aguinaldo on Tuesday have been postponed with six players testing positive for COVID-19.

Sao Sebastiao games postponed

Sources who closely monitor the situation have confirmed the positive tests that put them under health and safety protocols and would make all Golden Stags close contacts.

Rules stipulated by the NCAA for the season 98 senior basketball tournament state that once two players test positive, the team is required to undergo a mandatory seven-day quarantine period before being tested again.

The league is expected to announce a new schedule, although that means the list for a Saturday game between San Sebastian and Lyceum is already scrapped.

That also meant the Letran-Mapua match, a rematch of last season’s finals, will be the only game on Tuesday with the San Sebastian-EAC game ruled out.

The Golden Stags currently hold a 2-2 list behind Romel Calahat, Ichie Altamirano and Jessie Sumoda, with their last game being a 78-71 loss to San Beda last Wednesday.
