LeBron James and Anthony Davis are disrespected in the ESPN NBA rankings

Not too long ago, Davis was being talked about as possibly the best big man in the NBA.

He averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game during the 2019-20 season, and increased his scoring and rebounding numbers to 27.7 and 9.7 per game, respectively, in the 2019-20 season. playoffs, when LA won it all.

But over the past two seasons, he’s been ravaged by multiple injuries that torpedoed both of the Lakers’ campaigns.

That’s the reasoning ESPN gave for putting Davis so low on its list, especially after he was ranked ninth just a year ago.

“Davis has missed 78 of the Lakers’ 154 games in the last two seasons because of various injuries. Just by virtue of some good health and luck, Davis can and should impact the win the way he did in his first season in Los Angeles, when the Lakers won it all.”

At the start of last season, before Davis dealt with injuries, he looked great as he played with aggression and passion.

Perhaps staying healthy is almost all the battle for him, especially since he’s likely to play considerably fewer minutes at 5.
