KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The University of Kansas men’s basketball team is gearing up for a national title defense, announcing its full schedule for the 2022-23 season on Friday.
Kansas will begin its New Year’s Eve conference schedule against Oklahoma State at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Jayhawks will play their first non-Big 12 game of the season against Texas Tech on January 3.
On January 17, KU faces the first Sunflower Sundown at Kansas State, with the second match on January 31 at Allen Fieldhouse.
Kansas will face all Big 12 opponents twice in the regular season as part of the conference’s round-robin format.
The schedule includes three ESPN Big Monday games, the first scheduled for January 23 against Baylor on the road. The Jayhawks host Texas on February 6th and conclude their big TCU Monday on February 20th.
Kansas is 76-21 all-time on Big Monday and 57-15 under coach Bill Self. The team won 39 consecutive Big Monday games at Allen Fieldhouse, and Self has never lost a Big Monday game at the famous arena.
Released on June 28, the team’s non-conference schedule includes some notable clashes.
The Border Showdown continues against Missouri at Mizzou Arena on Dec. 10, and Kansas travels to Lexington, Kentucky, to face the Wildcats in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Jan. 28, with revenge in mind after the 80-62 at home. last season’s loss to Kentucky on January 29 as part of ESPN’s College Gameday.
The team will host the 2022 NCAA Tournament rematches against Texas Southern and Seton Hall on November 28 and December 1, respectively. The Seton Hall game is part of the Big 12/Big East Battle.
Kansas will face Duke at the Champions Classic in Indianapolis on November 15th and will participate in the eight-team field at Battle4Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas from November 23-25.
