The Gonzaga University men’s basketball team has always shown what it means to respect the pre-game dress code.
We are used to seeing athletes in their team attire on our TV screens. However, before each game, the players dress up to give us a glimpse of their personal style and use the stadium entrance as their makeshift rink.
With the team set to host Kraziness at Kennel on October 8, let’s take a look at the top 10 games in the show’s history.
10. Julian Strathwer on November 17, 2021.
Julian Strawther’s outfit was simple and not too flashy like some of the others on this list. But sometimes comfortable clothes trump style.
The outfit was worn in winter, so a puffer jacket with a black hoodie underneath and a baby blue Nike Air Force One were an appropriate outfit.
His fit was praised by colleague Zag Rasir Bolton, who commented, “Drip King” in the post.
9. Andrew Nembhard on February 19, 2023.
Former GU guard and current Indiana Pacers rookie Andrew Nembhard’s outfit was a perfect example of subtle dressing.
It lacked flashy colors, but the outfit looked good regardless with the black hoodie, backwards cap, ripped jeans, and black Nike Air Max sneakers.
8. Aaron Cook on January 7, 2021.
This was another simple outfit as Aaron Cook rocked a custom white hoodie with some fun designs with blue jeans and Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 OG high heels. Like Nembhard’s outfit, there was nothing wrong with a simple, easy color scheme.
7. Jalen Suggs on January 7, 2021.
Although Jalen Suggs will always be remembered for his NCAA tournament victory, his outfits were just as impressive.
The fit was easy on the eyes too, as he wore flannel with a red and black pattern. Black ripped jeans complement both colors with an image of pink in the upper corner of the pants. He gets points for the chain around his neck, which always looks good.
6. Geno Crandall on February 2, 2019.
Former Zag Geno Crandall was underrated in terms of his on-court play and off-court style.
The outfit had an aesthetic beauty and a great message, as he wore a yellow sweater with a message saying “Respect, protect, love the black woman”.
Crandall also rocked black sweatpants with white stripes on each side with black spots. He completed it with retro yellow and black Nike Air Max sneakers that matched his overall color scheme.
5. Andrew Nembhard on February 27, 2021.
Nembhard makes the list again, as he exhibited another simple tweak.
What really made the outfit stand out was the Nike jacket and Nike low-top sneakers.
4. Anton Watson on November 5, 2021.
Anton Watson wore a nice puffer jacket with a GU patch, along with a black shirt that had an image of Naruto and Goku along with the caption “Modern Rockstars”. He then completed the outfit with a neck chain and white converse.
3. Greg Foster Jr. on February 2, 2019.
Foster’s outfit was an homage to the viral image of a young wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He also wore a chain around his neck with a black turtleneck sweater, but added a bit of his own flair by adding sunglasses, green pants, and black and white Van Pro Skates.
2. Oumar Ballo on February 18, 2021.
Oumar Ballo completed a spacey look with a light blue denim jacket, a dyed shirt and paint pants that look like the Andromeda galaxy.
He finished off the look with a pair of Jordan tops that don’t match any color of the outfit but still complement the pale color of his jacket.
1. Julian Strawther on January 2, 2021.
Strawther took first place with a little flair as he wore a multicolored jacket and black jersey from Super Bowl XXIX (29), in which the San Francisco 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers in Miami, Florida.
He completed the look with a pair of Nike SB pants that matched the colors of the jacket.
Former Zag Joel Ajayi posted a comment saying “Fit crazy @julianstrawther”. Also, Corey Kispart: “Ju woke up this morning and decided to make the rest of us look bad @julianstrawther 😂😂”.
