The NBA is one of the biggest sports leagues in the world. Millions of fans around the world love watching their favorite athletes play basketball. Of course, that means NBA franchises have a lot of fans around the world.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that all teams in the league are equally popular. There are some teams that are in a big market that have a huge fan base compared to small market teams.
It is also directly related to the few selected franchises generating a lot of revenue for the league. That is, these are the only organizations deemed valuable by the league.
NBA Analyst Believes Phoenix Suns Could Join League’s Most Valuable Franchise List
In recent days, the Phoenix Suns have been in the news, but not for good reason. Franchise owner Robert Sarver is being forced to sell the franchise. It is the consequence of misconduct in the workplace he was involved in during his tenure as team owner.
Based on this, renowned NBA analyst Bill Simmons believes the Suns are ready to join an incredibly exclusive list of the league’s most valuable NBA franchises.
Through the basketball net:
”There are only 8 truly amazing NBA franchises. The Lakers, the Knicks, the Warriors, the Bulls, the Celtics, the Mavericks. I would play for the Heat because of the organization they’ve built, the location, the fact that they’ve always got good players and there’s a lot of money in South Beach. That’s seven, and the suns are the eight. What’s interesting about that? The Suns are the only ones that will be available out of these eight.
Phoenix is the mecca of the rich. Amazing fans, you’ve got a whole story, you’ve got Devin Booker in place. But the big thing – it’s an hour from LA and an hour from the Bay Area. You can attract all the rich guys from those two places and they can fly away and own the team.”
Simmons believes the biggest attraction the Suns have is the fact that all the wealthy people of LA and the Bay Area can easily travel there.
Additionally, the Suns currently have a star player in the roster, Devin Booker. Alongside him, the Suns also have Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton. So anyone who buys the Suns is essentially getting a team that plays for the championship right off the bat.
