Games today:
12h00 – Benilde (3-0) vs Letran (1-1)
3pm – Perpetual (1-2) x Mapua (1-2)

De La Salle-College de Saint Benilde is looking to protect its undefeated roster, while the University of the DALTA Perpetual Aid System and the University of Mapua are eyeing a comeback Friday in the NCAA’s 98th season.

Benilde, who is the hottest team in the league at the moment, faces two-time champions Colegio de San Juan de Letran at 12pm, while Perpetual and Mapua, both coming off losses, collide at 3pm

But even if they’ve taken care of their first three assignments, Benilde coach Charles Tiu is leaving nothing to chance, especially against a Letran side eager to bounce back from a heartbreaking defeat to the University of Arellano last Sunday.

Tiu stressed that the Blazers need to be cautious against the Knights as Benilde looks to start the season 4-0.

“I wish they had won the last game kasi ngayon malamang galit ang Letran. I hope we can give them a losing streak but they are tough, they always play physically and they are the defending champions for a reason,” Tiu said.

“So it’s going to be a tough game. It should be a good test for our team to see where we really are.”

Meanwhile, Perpetual and Mapua, both part of last season’s Final Four roster, will aim to get back on the winning track when they face off later in the day.

The Altas are coming off an 81-64 loss to Benilde and a tight 61-59 loss to Arellano, while Mapua is also fresh from back-to-back heartbreak as the Cardinals fell to Lyceum and San Sebastian.
