Adrian College inducts Shawn Skelly into Athletic Hall of Fame

ADRIAN, Michigan — At each Adrian College prom, the Bulldogs induct a new class of Hall of Famers. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2022 and the achievements each of them made during their time at Adrian College.

On September 23, 2022, Shawn Skelly of the Class of 2011 will be inducted into the Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame. Skelly was a four-time All-Conference selection to the men’s hockey team. He was also named to the 2007-08 MCHA All-Freshman Team and was the 2008-09 MCHA Player of the Year. Skelly was a two-time All-American and was the program’s first All-American.

In the 2008-09 season, he was the NCAA Division III National Scoring Champion and remains the all-time points leader in conference history. After his senior year, Skelly was named Adrian College’s Senior Male Athlete of the Year.

He currently holds the program record for points (230), points per game (2.02), goals (102), goals per game (0.89), assists (128), assists per game (1.12), winning goals (20), power play goals (47), shots on goal (593) and shots per game (5.20). Shawn continues to rank first in NCAA DIII history in winning goals and sixth all-time in power play goals.

He was a four-time conference champion and national runner-up in 2011.

He currently serves as the head coach of the Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team. Shawn lives in Adrian with his wife Ashley and their daughter Parker.

In addition to the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night, the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will be honored on the field ahead of the Homecoming football game on Saturday.
