Women’s tennis continues to fall in Tulsa invites

FAYETTEVILLE, Arca. – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team continues its fall season as it heads to the Tulsa Invitational from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Tulsa Invitational will feature singles and doubles games throughout the tournament, with eight Razorbacks competing.

Rookies Morgan McCarthy and Whitney Robbins will make their first appearances as Razorbacks, while Yuhan Liu competed at the ITF Lubbock Pro Circuit last week, losing to teammate Kelly Keller. Also exiting the pro tournament is junior Indianna Spink, who won her first two matches to qualify for the tournament’s main draw.

Juniors Lenka Stara and Morgan Cross will compete in their first competition this fall, both coming off a big spring season with the Razorbacks. Stara impressed early last fall, entering the spring on an 11-game winning streak and going 8-0 at No. 4 to start. Cross also got off to an impressive start last fall, advancing to the doubles round of 16 at the ITA National Fall Championships.

The other members of the women’s team, Kelly Keller and Carolina Gomez-Alonso, will head to Hilton Head, SC to continue a series of professional tournaments as they compete in the ITF Hilton Head 15K beginning Monday, September 26.
