USF Women’s Golf Travels to South Carolina

LID (September 22, 2022) – The University of South Florida hit the road for its second outing of the fall for the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman University, September 23-25.

Last time

The Bulls opened their 2022-23 season last week with a sixth-place finish in the 14-team Green Wave Classic. South Florida was one of seven teams in that tournament to hit under par as a team (857).

Melanie Green and Leonor Medeiros led South Florida with a score of 213 three-under-par to tie for 19th individually. Medeiros had a 67-hole round in the first round and equaled his career total of 54 holes.

Juliana Camargo also had a career low with a score of 218 on 54 holes.

Lauren Heinlein and Alizee Vidal made their debuts at USF.

The tournament

The Lady Paladin Invitational will be played at the Furman Golf Club in Greenville, SC Teams will play 18 holes over three days. Tee times start at 9am on holes #1 and #10 on Friday and Saturday with a shotgun at 9am on Sunday.

head coach Erika Brennan announced the following lineup for USF: Juliana Camargo, Lauren Heinlein, Leonor Medeiros, Emma Kim and Alizee Vidal. Kim will make her college debut for the Bulls.

“The team created some momentum in the first event and this weekend’s build-up,” said Brennan. “We know this golf course and we feel confident about where we can capitalize and where to go out with a par. They believe deeply in each other and we are ready to fight alongside each other.”

The field

South Florida will compete on the 18-team field with: Furman, Augusta, Costal Carolina, Daytona State, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, James Madison, Memphis, Minnesota, North Florida, Old Dominion, Richmond, Stetson, Tulane , UNCW and Western Kentucky.
