HUNTSVILLE, Alabama (WAFF) – The Nashville Soccer Club announced the president and managing director of commercial operations for the Huntsville MLS NEXT Pro team on Thursday.
Ian Ayre was named team president and Chad Emerson was named managing director of business operations.
Ayre has served as CEO of Nashville SC since 2018.
Nashville Soccer Club owner John Ingram said hiring Ayre as team president was the best decision he made as team owner.
“Hiring Ian to be the CEO of Nashville SC was the best decision I made as an owner of the organization,” Ingram said in a statement. “Ian’s appointment as president of the Huntsville MLS NEXT Pro team signals our commitment to making this project a tremendous success. Ian’s experience and understanding of what it takes to get a club up and running puts us in an excellent position in Huntsville.”
Emerson is the former founding CEO of Downtown Huntsville, Inc. (DHI). Under his leadership, DHI has won several awards from the International Downtown Association.
Ayre said Emerson’s local experience was important in choosing him to serve the club.
“I am pleased to have found someone with Chad’s local experience to lead our business efforts for our NEXT Pro team,” Ayre said in a statement. “As we saw during the construction of the Nashville Soccer Club, having key people who know and understand the local market is crucial to shaping the club and the business to suit the city. I’m confident Chad and the team we’ve assembled can build something unique and fit for the city of Huntsville.”
The Huntsville MLS NEXT Pro team will play their home games at Joe Davis Stadium once the renovations are completed in May 2023.
