CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte’s men’s tennis team returns to action this weekend when it sends groups of players to the Clemson Hidden Duals and the Elon Fall Invitational.
CLEMSON HIDDEN DUALS
Heading south to Clemson this weekend will be sophomores Coy Simon, Vasco Prata and Brett Gloria and freshman Ivan Dreycopp.
This weekend will mark Gloria’s first official college action after missing all of last fall with an injury and not appearing on the lineup during the spring campaign.
This will be the second consecutive weekend of play for Dreycopp, Silver and Simon, with Silver having the most successful weekend at Duke last weekend, going 3-1 in singles and finishing third in the draw b.
The format at Clemson will consist of singles and doubles matches throughout the weekend. Each player will be guaranteed three doubles matches and three singles matches.
ELON FALL INVITATION
Second year Lance Cochran and freshman Aditya Narayanan will represent the 49ers at Elon, with each competing at the college level for the first time.
The format for the weekend in the North will split players into 16 player draws in singles and eight team draws in doubles action.
Friday will consist of a couple of doubles rounds and the opening singles round. On Saturday, two rounds of singles will be played, deciding the main and backdraw finals, while on Sunday, participants will compete in the final doubles round and the main or backdraw finals.
Charlotte will be on the court for the third straight weekend when the 49ers send a group of players to the Davidson Invitational Cross County October 1-2 at Davidson College.
