Adamsville UM holds annual race
Adamsville’s 23rd annual United Methodist golf course, with proceeds going to the LifeWise Academy of Tri-Valley, will be at 9:00 am on October 8 at Fuller’s Fairiways.
Teams of four cost $240 and include carts. Lunch will also be served and the top three teams will receive cash prizes.

Rosecrans holding a golf race
The annual Rosecrans Golf Tour will take place on October 9th in Green Valley. The cost is $40 player and does not include cart, and the closest pin on each hole is $25. There will also be a game of skins, food and drink.
Checks must be made at BAA (Bishops Athletic Association) and applications can be mailed to Rosecrans High School or Ed Johnston, 2407 Center Drive, Zanesville, OH 43701.
John Glenn CC performing Youth Fun Run
The John Glenn Cross Country team is hosting a one mile youth fun run at 5pm on Tuesday, September 27th. K-6th graders from any school can participate, and runners will be divided into age divisions
Registration is $10 per child and can be completed before the race at Larry Miller Intermediate School in New Concord. Proceeds benefit JG Track and Cross Country boosters. For more information, contact Coach Amy Tooms at email@example.com.
Crystal Springs Results
Crystal Springs Golf Club and Community Bank Monday morning Senior League A Division saw Bruce Pierce and Kelly Worstall tied at gross low of 35 and Pierce at net low of 32. Winning teams were 1-14-10-12 -2-7 and 6 & 4 tied.
In Division B, Keith Hale carded 38 under gross and Ron Hayes, Randy Hoopes and Nick Curry tied for under 33 net. Winning teams were 9-11-1-14-12-6-15 and 2-16 tied.
The final ranking of the top three in each division was: A division: 1st Place Tie with 25 points, Art Snider and Bobby Melshimer & Rick Bonifant and Don Blaney; 2nd Place Tie with 24 points, Dan Stottsberry and Tom Downs & Dave King and Tommy Georgiades; 3rd place with 22 points, Bruce Pierce and Doug Wayne; Division B: 1st place with 28 points, Bill Jones and Lee Firich; 2nd place with 26 points, Tim Paul and Terry Smith; 3rd Place Tied with 23 points, Dave Purkey and Bill Aichele & Ken Harris and John Williams.
The Ladies Helper held her Fall Roundup on Wednesday. The Shamble 2 Best Ball – Net format was won by Linda Phillips, Vicky French, Tami Swope and Susan Thompson with 57. Becky Weir, Toby Rogovin, Jan Schowinsky and Susan Benincasa came in second with 59, and Lucy Cook, Karen Murray, Debbie Hennessey and Kristen Hardcastle at 60.
The Stand-aside Scramble was won by Connie LaPlante, Ann Somple and Janet Pompei with 29, while Diane Decenso, Susan Baltzer, Ellen Nist and Linda Graham came in second with 29, and Paula Brunton, Deedee Dodson, Joan Minning and Cindy Linn were third. with 30.
Longest putt at No. 3 was Decenso at 4-foot-10, LaPlante hit the longest drive at No. 6, and Pompei was closest to the pin at No. 12 (11 ft-7).
