Women’s golf finishes 13th at The “Mo”Morial in Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Charlotte’s women’s golf closed out The “Mo”Morial on Wednesday afternoon, finishing 13th in Texas.

A tough final round for all competitors saw Maia Samuelsson led the Niners five over 77. Samuelsson was the only 49er to shoot in the ’70s, needing a pair of birdies, one on each side, to hit his 77. Jette Schulze followed with 82 (+10) with three birdies on the day while Kaiyuree Moleyy and Kayla Bartemeyer finished the team scoring with a round of 83 (+11). Moodley got his lone birdie in the par five tenths, while Bartemeyer sold out three during his final round. Schimpf Abbey finished 10 behind Moodley and Bartemeyer fighting to 93 (+21) over the final 18.

Host Texas A&M won the team event with -11 points, four strokes ahead of Texas and seven ahead of North Carolina. The 49ers will have just over a week off before playing in the Evie Odom Invitational starting September 30 in Virginia Beach.
