ROUNDUP: Manteca eliminates Kimball in women’s tennis victory

The Manteca women’s tennis team improved to 3-0 in the Valley Oak League with a 9-0 win over Kimball on Tuesday. The match took place at West High in Tracy.

It was a quick visit for the Buffaloes, who managed to sweep in all six singles matches, and doubles matches were decided in eight pro games.

Katie Kim and Chloe Marquis, the two best players in Manteca, both won 6-0, 6-0, as did #5 Jenna Poncini. Emma Ngo (6-1, 6-0), Shreya Raman (6-2, 6-0) and Christina Nguyen (6-2, 6-0) round out the singles wins.

Number 1 doubles partners Eva Pasion and Yazmin Guerra won 8-1. Dixsha Singh and Parm Toor took second place in doubles, 8-2. Guadalupe Mercado and Michailla Springs combined for an 8-3 win in the doubles number 3.


Grace Davis 24, Lathrop 10

Hannah Stewart was responsible for half of the Spartans’ 10 goals. Kalani Soriano scored four and Elizabeth Rodriguez scored one.
