PRINCETON, NJ – The LSU Men’s Tennis Team will kick off the Fall 2022 season Thursday morning on the first day of the Farnsworth Invitational, hosted by Princeton University at the Lenz Tennis Center.
The Farnsworth Invitational is scheduled to run from Thursday, September 22 to Sunday, September 25. LSU joins host team Princeton, Michigan State, Old Dominion, Pennsylvania and Tulsa to play in the tournament. The Tigers are scheduled to play at 3 pm CT on Thursday and 11 am CT on Friday. Saturday, LSU will play at 8:00 am CT and 2:00 pm CT before closing the weekend on Sunday with an 8:00 am match.

The Tigers have a 10-player roster for the fall season, which features five returnees and 5 newcomers. Graduate student Nick Watson enters his fifth year as Tiger. Redshirt junior Ronnie Hohmann enters his fourth year, while fellow juniors Benjamin Ambrosio and Ben Koch enter their third season at LSU. Sophomore Will Cubitt begins his sophomore year at the Bayou.
The five Tigers transfers come from all over the country. Veteran Stefan Latinovic joins the Tigers after four years at Wichita State under new head coach Danny Bryan. George Stoupe enters the bayou after three years in Arizona. Junior Chen Dong enters his first year with the Tigers after two seasons with Georgia Tech, while fellow junior Welsh Hotard joins after two seasons at Oklahoma. Julien Penzlin, a sophomore, is starting his freshman year in Baton Rouge after a stint in Portland.
LSU has both singles and doubles players in the 2022 preseason ITA Rankings. 2022 ITA Singles All-American Ronnie Hohmann is ranked 14th in the singles rankings and is coming off a round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championship. Newcomer duo Julien Penzlin and Welsh Hotard are ranked 53rd in the duos ranking.
