JACKSONVILLE, FL. – Jacksonville Men’s Soccer returned to the winning streak on Tuesday night, crossing to a 3-0 victory over Georgia Southern.
The match was highlighted by the scorers Carson Wood and Taurayi Tugwete that both scored their first goal as a ‘Phin, while the team captain Joshua Araújo-Wilson scored the second goal of his career.
Moussa Sabaly helped the first two goals to change his season, and now the conference total assists to six, and Christian Sekanina was also tremendous in the net, making four saves on the way to his first victory and without conceding a goal in the green and white.
The Dolphins showed a commanding performance, and it started right away when Carson Wood kicked in the top left corner, making the score 1-0 ‘Phins with just four minutes.

The Eagles would receive a red card moments later, leaving them to ten men, from which they would never recover.
Taurayi Tugwete then put the game on ice by finishing a big pass Carson Wood in 83rd minute, making the final 3-0 in favor of the ‘Phins.
The win marks JU’s third of the season and takes their overall record to 3-2-2. They will now prepare for the second half of a four-game match when they play Bellarmine this Saturday, September 24 at 7pm and then Presbyterian at 6pm on Tuesday, September 27.
