Lady Indians make golf debut this fall

GRANBURY – The Waxahachie Lady Indians kicked off their fall golf season with a fifth-place finish at the Granbury Tournament held at Harbor Lakes Golf Club this past weekend.

The team shot 415 on the first day but came back and had the team’s fourth-highest score on Saturday with 389.

On Friday, Katherine O’Donnell led with 98. On Saturday, Ava Workman led with 89. Maylie McCorkle hit 96 and Aubrey DeVreeze had 98.

The Lady Indians will be at the Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose this Friday and Saturday. They will also play in tournaments at Abilene’s Diamondback Golf Club October 10-11, Cleburne Golf Links October 28-29 and Euless’s Texas Star Golf Course November 9 in preparation for the competitive spring season.
