Campbell’s Hole-in-One Highlights Men’s Golf Performance at Ram Masters Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colorado — A junior hole-in-one Shaun Campbell helped Creighton’s men’s golf team finish 14th at the Ram Masters Invitational, which ended Tuesday in Fort Collins, Colorado.

In his second round on Monday, Campbell used a throwing wedge to hit the 195-yard #9 hole at Fort Collins Country Club for his second hole in a career. The New Zealand native led Creighton by tying for 36th after scores of 76, 68 and 73 for a total of 217.

Junior Charlie Zielinski tied for 40th after scores of 75, 73, and 70 for a total of 218. He has now hit par or better in 23 of his 54 career rounds as Bluejay, and his final round helped him climb 14 places in the final standings.

A pair of newcomers went next for the Bluejays, as a freshman Grant Feldman (73-74-73=220) tied for 51st and second-year transfer Cole Davis (78-80-71=229) debuted on CU in a tie for 75th place.

Senior Cade McCallum ranked 84th after loops of 79, 78 and 80 for an aggregate of 237.

Tournament hosts Colorado State hit 269 (-11) in the final round to tie the tournament record 54 holes with an 823 (-17) finish and earn an 11-stroke victory over Cal State Fullerton and the rest of the golf course. 15 teams .

Utah Valley’s Brady McKinlay won the tournament medal medal for four shots after shooting 9-under-201 thanks to rounds of 71, 66, and 64, beating Colorado State’s David Bryant (68-68-69), Howard Yoon of Cal State Fullerton (66-71). -68) and Patrick Azevedo of Wyoming (68-72-65) by four shots.

Eighty-four players competed in the event at the Fort Collins Country Club on the par 70 field that spanned 7,234 yards.
