PIPESTONE – The Fairmont Cardinals swept through the doubles division to help in a 5-2 win over the Pipestone Area Arrows during Monday’s Big South Conference tennis action at Pipestone.

Solveig Senf and Emelia Klanderud combined skills at number 3 in doubles for a 6-4, 6-0 win over Addison Draper and Laura Minet of the Pipestone Area.

Fairmont’s Lilly Laven and Paige Linse teamed up in the second pair to equal Senf and Klanderud, losing just a four-game total en route to a 6-3, 6-1 winning decision over Alicia Haack and Vivian Brockberg.

Anika Haugen and Johanna Petschke capped the Cardinals’ doubles bracket with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Alyssa Enger and Madison Purdin in the top spot.

Elly Stegge clinched one of two Fairmont teams in the singles division, posting a 6-2, 6-4 winning performance over Jenna Boeke in third place in the roster.

Madi Peyman generated the Cardinals’ other point in singles action, beating Jasmine Boeke 7-5, 6-4 by decision in fourth place in the bracket.

Toryn Woelber earned a singles point for Pipestone Area by beating Abi Peyman in a 7-6 (8-6), 0-6, (10-7) slugfest at No.

Brielle Kulm pocketed the other Arrows team by serving up a 6-2 losing streak to Brynn Gustafson in the second single.

Fairmont (10-6) travels to Sleepy Eye today to take on River Valley in a two-league duel at 4:30 pm, before hitting the road to St. Peter on Thursday for a double league.
