Razorbacks open SEC game in Baton Rouge

The Hogs head into the conference volleyball game on Wednesday with their best start to the season in 10 years and their highest rating since 1999.

The No. 20 Hogs face LSU in Baton Rouge for the SEC team opener on Wednesday at 7pm. LSU is currently 6-4 for the season and Arkansas is 9-1. The Tigers were picked to finish eighth in the SEC and the Razorbacks were picked fourth.

In last year’s competition, the Razorbacks defeated the Tigers 3-1 in Fayetteville, and the series is 30-23 all-time in the Hogs’ favor, 14-13 in Baton Rouge.

The match will be broadcast live on SEC Network Plus with live stats provided by LSU.

Last time

Arkansas ranked 20th in the AVCA coach poll this week after the Razorbacks defeated then-number 1.7 Georgia Tech and NC State, both in four sets, last weekend. It was the second top 10 win of the season for the Razorbacks, the highest-ranked win since 2007, and the team’s first against Georgia Tech. since then too.

Senior hitter Jill Gillen led the Razorbacks with double-doubles in both games, with 18 kills each and 25 digs on Thursday and Friday. She also drew five blocks in Friday’s match against NC State, in which the Hogs set a new season record of 13 total as a team.
