NBA Executive Explains Why New York Knicks Julius Randle Trade Won’t Happen

According to an unnamed NBA executive, the champion of the New York Knicks’ Most Improved Player is far from suitable for inclusion in any deal that would make them the most improved team next season.

Speaking to’s Sean Deveney, the exec poured water over the flames of a Julius Randle deal, claiming the veteran’s downfall after winning a $117 million contract extension makes his deals poisonous.

“They owe him $117 million over the next four years,” the executive said. “There’s no one willing to assume that. If you give that kind of extension and then try to trade the guy a year later, you’re not going to get anything of value in return.”
