NBA Coach Believes LeBron James Is The GOAT: “Probably The Best Player In My Opinion”

LeBron James was referred to as the GOAT of basketball by legendary head coach Chris Brickley.

LeBron James has earned a lot of praise on the NBA court over his nearly 20-year NBA career. The 4-time champion won every award he could, except Defensive Player of the Year, an award he believes he should have won in 2013. Regardless, James has established himself as an all-time great and arguably one of 2 best players of all time.

People often debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron when it comes to discussing the greatest NBA player of all time. Legendary NBA head coach Chris Brickley weighed in on the discussion and sided with LeBron, explaining why he thinks LBJ is the GOAT after training with the Lakers forward.

“When I started training with LeBron, the first thing I did – I went to Synergy, analyzed his game, analyzed all the analysis and discovered the strengths and weaknesses of his game… best player in my opinion, to be able to find something he’s not amazing at, and then seeing what he thinks about it and that we’re both on the same page, that’s fucked up.”

Did LeBron do enough to be the GOAT?

When it comes to the GOAT conversation in the NBA, people are often torn between Jordan and LeBron. MJ had the biggest peak in basketball as he had a 6 year run where no one could beat him in the Playoffs. His 6-0 record in the Finals looks incredibly impressive as a statistic and many believe that this record, along with Jordan being a higher volume scorer and better defender than LeBron, makes him the GOAT.

However, LeBron has defied aging throughout his NBA career, setting an example for all young players on how to have a good time. LeBron has been one of the best players in the league for the past 18 years, longer than Jordan’s entire NBA career. His physical frame makes him unstoppable and he’s dominated the game longer than many NBA fans have been alive.

Both can be the GOAT, depending on which aspect one wants to focus on. Brickley chose LeBron, but that doesn’t mean any of the answers are incorrect.
