Men’s shoes announce fall 2022 calendar

TALLAHASSEE, Florida. – Florida State Men’s Tennis has released its Fall 2022 Tournament schedule, featuring multiple events on the Seminoles courts.

“We have a great fall schedule,” said coach Dwayne Hultquist. “We play a lot at home, which gives people the opportunity to come out and watch us here.”

The season will kick off with a handful of Noles playing in the Destin Invitational at the TOPS’L Resort from September 23-25.

Next up is the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, starting October 1. With a win in the final of the ITA Summer Championships Doubles, Youcef Rihane and Alex Bulte earned an automatic wildcard into the main draw of the All-American Championships.

“We’re taking the entire team to Tulsa this fall,” Hultquist shared. “This is going to be a big event for us as our guys will have the opportunity to play on the national stage.”

The first chance to watch the Seminoles at home is October 20-24 as the state of Florida will host the ITA Southeast Regional Championships for the first time since 2016. Current junior Andy Petrovic has advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Regionals 2021 in Gainesville.

Tallahassee will host a professional tournament starting October 24, in which several Seminoles will compete. Junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc reached the quarterfinals in this tournament last year and will be looking to improve his performance this fall.

The ITA Fall Championships will take place November 2-6 in San Diego, California and will feature the top 32 singles players and the top 32 doubles teams in the country based on their performance in ITA Regionals.

For the third time in a row, the FSU will host the Bedford Cup from November 4-6, a tournament in which the Seminoles enjoyed great success. Most recently, Josh Dous-Karpenschif and Maks Silagy won the doubles title in 2021.

The Seminoles will end the fall tournament season with individual participation in the professional M15 Boca Raton tournament starting November 14th.

“It should be a good fall that gives our players the opportunity to play a lot of matches and prepare for spring,” added Hultquist.
