Men’s golf ends day one at River Run Collegiate

DAVIDSON, NC – The Marshall University men’s golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the River Run Collegiate on Monday in Davidson, North Carolina. Senior Tyler Jones is tied for 11th with a two-round score of a pair.

“I was very pleased with how we recovered in the afternoon,” said the Herd men’s golf coach. Matt Grobe said after the first day. “We didn’t play our best in the morning round, but the guys really battled and played better this afternoon. Tyler’s 67s in the afternoon were impressive. Christian (Boyd) and Ryan (Bilby) played very consistent today. guys compete in the final round tomorrow.”

Jones hit five under par 67 in the second round, tied for the best round through the opening 36 holes, while he hit five holes during the second round.

second year red shirt Andrew Wyss birdied six of the first 36 holes, including four in the second round. Second year Clayton Thomas collected five birds.
