Men’s football falls at LIU

BROOKVILLE, NY – The Hartford men’s football team hit the road for LIU this afternoon. With the result, the Hawks go 0-8 for the season, while the Sharks improve to 6-2.

The match started as a midfield battle, with neither team creating great offensive opportunities. However, host Sharks would break the deadlock in the 14th minute. Hartford would waste little time trying to find the tie Mevlan Lebiti kicked into the net, but his shot was well saved by goalkeeper LIU. LIU would try to increase their advantage at the end of the first half, using a deep ball. With a single chance, Jack Merrill made an excellent defensive move to slow down the attacker LIU before Rotem Fadida made a great point-blank save to keep the Sharks off the board. The hosts, however, would go into the break, 1-0.

The Sharks would take the momentum into the second half, scoring four more goals to take home a 5-0 win.
