Larned Tennis finishes second – GREAT BEND TRIBUNE

LARNED – Larned’s No. 2 in singles, Ella McNett, took first place, but the Indians were beaten 34-32 by Cimarron for the team title in Thursday’s Larned tennis tournament. Mc-Nett took down Kiowa County’s Liberty Gilkey 7-6 (7-1) for first place.

Cimarron beat the Larned players in the other three positions. Cimarron’s No. 1 Emily Goetz defeated Larned’s Abby Holt 6-0 for first place. Cimarron’s No. 1 duos, Keira Buchholz/Amanda Housman, edged out Larned’s Sarah Manry/Reese Watkins 7-6 (9-7) in the tie for first place. Zoey Jantz/Paslie Werth of Cimarron defeated Arianna Hemken/Breanna Hemken of Larned 6-4 for first place.
