Men’s Football Cross Named MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Week

ANNANDALE, Pa. (September 19, 2022) – senior goalkeeper Justin Cruz of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s soccer team was named MAC Freedom’s Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row. The award was announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Cross played a major netting role for the Ducks in both wins last week. He made three saves in the team’s 2-1 victory over NYU on Tuesday, September 13, and added another three saves in the team’s 2-1 victory over TCNJ. He had a 0.750 save percentage in both games.

In six games this season, Cross has made 14 saves and averaged 0.67 goals against and 0.778 percentage saves. He has a 5-0-1 record in his six games with two shutouts this year.

Next: Stevens faces Widener University at home on Saturday, September 24. The kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 at Complexo Atlético DeBaun.
