WVU Men’s Football as No. 6 in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The WVU men’s soccer team ranked No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The ranking is the highest in the program’s history.

This ranking comes after the team was 12-3-6 last season and reached the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time since 1981. They finished with the number 8 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches poll, their highest result in the history of the program.

The top-ranked team is returning national champion Clemson. West Virginia is one spot ahead of rival Pittsburgh (No. 7) and eight spots ahead of rival Marshall (No. 14).

The top ten schools in order are Clemson, Georgetown, Washington, Notre Dame, Oregon State, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, New Hampshire, and St. Louis.

They start the year in an exhibition game against Duquesne on August 13, with their first real game against Robert Morris on August 25.
