NBA Insider says Kevin Durant will play for Nets if he’s not traded: “He’s not going to sit down or anything like that.”

Kevin Durant has been asking for a trade this off-season in particular and there is no doubt that many teams have been trying to find a way to acquire the superstar forward. However, so far the Brooklyn Nets have not been able to find a trade they like.

In the past we have seen some players like Ben Simmons sitting outside waiting for the team to trade them. However, an NBA executive spoke to’s Sean Bulpett and suggested he doesn’t like Kevin Durant. Knowing himself Kevin Durant, the director added that Kevin Durant is not the “kind of man” who would do such a thing.

‘I don’t see KD as a hard line either. If they can’t make a deal, he’s just going to say, ‘[Expletive] it,’ and he’ll play – and he’ll play hard like he always does. I know KD, and he doesn’t sit outside or anything like that. He’s not that type. There is no way. He’s not going to do that.

“Now if Brooklyn wants to be good, the fastest way to do that is to play KD and Kyrie and (Ben) Simmons well together. With everything else, you’re pretty much scrambling this season, waiting for those design choices to bring you something good. It doesn’t matter who you get back in a trade now, he won’t become a KD.”

It remains to be seen if Kevin Durant is indeed traded, and there are teams other than the Nets that would be contenders with him on the roster. However, there is also a road to contention with the Brooklyn Nets, who have two other All-Stars in Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons on the roster.

Hopefully we’ll see Kevin Durant end up on a team vying for the championship, be it on the Brooklyn Nets or otherwise. He’s a player who has a lot left in the tank and maybe we’ll see Kevin Durant win another championship in the near future.
